The NAJAS/KKC Business Speaker Series was held in cooperation with the Japan-America Society of Georgia under the theme “U.S.-Japan Business Strategies: A Japanese Company’s Approach to the U.S. & Global Market”. The speakers were Mr. Yoji Saito, Executive Officer and Group President of Global Strategic Planning & Marketing of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Mr. Remy Magnier-Watanabe, Associate Professor in the MBA Program in International Business, Graduate School of Business Sciences, at the University of Tsukuba. The event was held both on online and in-person in Georgia and California where smaller gatherings watched the webinar.
Mr. Saito explained Mitsubishi Electric’s corporate overview, strategy and sustainability target as well as their business operations in the United States and Americas countries. He also introduced the business of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC in Georgia, including their history and community engagement.
Prof. Watanabe spoke about the Japanese Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the U.S. and corporate sustainability. He mentioned that FDI can contribute to reaching the SDGs and sustainable FDI is a shared responsibility of the international community, host and home countries and MNEs.
