The NAJAS/KKC Business Speaker Series was held in Indianapolis in cooperation with the Japan-America Society of Indiana. Mr. Masahiko Nittono, General Manager and Chief Corporate Representative of NTT Corporation, Washington D.C. and Mr. Tobias Harris, Senior Vice President of the Teneo consulting firm were invited as speakers.

NTT is the new Title Sponsor of the IndyCar racing series and the Indy 500 race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Mr. Nittono’s presentation emphasized the development of NTT’s advanced data networks and the advantages of its IOWN (Innovative Optical and Wireless Network). He stated that the application of NTT technology in smart sports, especially the IndyCar racing series, will allow for increased real-time analyses, data security, and an enhanced direct audience experience.

Mr. Harris who is an expert on Japanese politics provided insights and the Japanese view on the Japan-U.S. relationship. He offered commentary on the Trump and Abe administrations and their respective foreign policies, with observations on the implications for the Japan-U.S. alliance.
