Meeting with Foreign Media Yukiko Toyoda, Reuters

Keizai Koho Center invited Ms. Yukiko Toyoda, Japan Bureau Chief of Reuters News & Media to speak and exchange views with the member companies of Keizai Koho Center.
Ms. Toyoda shared the history of Reuters, the world’s largest multimedia news provider. She also introduced the 150 year history of their Japan Bureau, the interests of their readers, and the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles of accuracy, speed and balance, which are fundamental in their reporting.
A former journalist of Kyodo News, she spoke about the differences between U.S. and Japanese media. She explained the hurdles of publishing articles in Reuters and stated that the content must be attractive and interesting for global readers and also portray a story.
After Ms. Toyoda’s lecture, there was a Q&A session. Mr. David Dolan, Deputy Bureau Chief of Japan, Ms. Maki Shiraki, Senior Correspondent and Mr. Daniel Leussink, Correspondent of Reuters also attended
