Mr. Huang Feng, Chairman of the Shanghai Association of Foreign Investment, was invited to speak on the “Outlook for Japan-China Economic Exchange and the Role of Shanghai – based on the latest economic situation in Shanghai” to Keizai Koho Center member corporations.

Mr. Huang explained that opening up to the outside world remains China’s basic national policy even after the Communist Party’s 20th National Congress.

He mentioned that as China focuses on renewable energy and energy conservation, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and protecting the environment, Japanese companies should step up their investment in this area as they promote economic exchanges between Japan and China, since advanced Japanese technology in products and production equipment is essential for Chinese companies.

Finally, he touched on the situation in Shanghai and concluded by expressing his desire to further develop the infrastructure and accelerate the construction of a system that allows industries and people to flow freely with the aim of further economic development.
