Keizai Koho Center invited Mr. Mark McCall, Global Segment Leader of Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting and Mr. Masaru Suzuki, Attorney-at-law of TMI Associates to speak on the above topic to KKC member corporations.

Mr. McCall explained that as global trends in mergers and acquisitions continue, companies increasingly need to involve key stakeholders and influencers successfully in order to navigate the ever-changing financial and regulatory environment and mitigate risks. He also noted that while activism has fallen out of interest in the United States, interest in ESG remains high in Europe and Asia.

Mr. Suzuki emphasized the importance of conducting thorough preliminary research on geopolitical risks and predicting the operations of various regulations that will be affected by those geopolitical risks, when Japanese companies conduct M&A globally.

After the presentations, a panel discussion was held and a lively exchange of opinions took place. A total of 50 people attended the seminar.
