KKC hosted the above online meeting and invited three speakers from Finsbury Glover Hering (which rebranded as FGS Global in June 2022).

Ms. Deborah Hayden, Partner, who has over 30 years of experience in financial and corporate communications, stated that when a company is expanding its business globally, it is important to take careful note of the perceptions and requirements of international stakeholders.

Mr. Dan Bogler, Managing Director, shared his thoughts on the relationship between PR agencies, international journalists and corporate communications departments. Based on his experience at the Financial Times, he stated that he communicated with PR agencies more frequently than internal corporate communications teams.

Compared to the stable business models of Japanese corporations, western corporations often make dynamic changes in strategy, which require the coordination of in-house and outside specialists. In order to respond efficiently and effectively to change, using external PR agencies is increasingly important, explained Mr. Keiichi Hotta, the Managing Director. With a growing adoption of corporate social responsibility and ESG standards, there is a high awareness of environmental issues in the EU and U.S. In the U.S., there is also a strong tendency to focus on human rights issues.

The meeting was followed by a Q&A session.
