Keizai Koho Center held an online seminar inviting Professor Tomohito Shinoda, Graduate School of International Relations, International University of Japan.

Professor Shinoda stated that President Biden has built a strong connection with Congress over the years and his team has highly experienced staff. While President Biden has strength in managing and coordinating the relations with Congress, he may face difficulty to implement bold policies, Professor Shinoda mentioned. Regarding foreign and security policy, he explained that the Biden administration is taking a tough stance toward China, emphasizing cooperation with allies. On the other hand, the administration is showing a cooperative stance to China on challenges including Covid-19 and climate change.
