Online Meeting Climate Change Policy of the Biden Administration and its Implications for Japan Sarah Ladislaw, CSIS

KKC held an online meeting inviting Ms. Sarah Ladislaw, Senior Vice President and Director and Senior Fellow of the Energy Security and Climate Change Program of CSIS. She stated that the Biden administration has placed climate change as one of their top four priorities, with health, the economy and racial justice. She also explained that the new administration has many goals for their climate change and job creation agenda including carbon free electricity by 2035, net zero emission by 2050 and global leadership in EV manufacturing. As its implications for Japan, she pointed out that there would be new opportunities for Japan to work with the United States on increasing clean energy development finance.
