Keizai Koho Center held an online meeting titled “The Current Situation of Asia and Policy Responses by the Biden Administration”. The speaker was Ambassador Kurt Tong, who served as the U.S. Consul General in Hong Kong and Macau until July 2019, and is currently a partner of the Asia Group in Washington, D.C. Ambassador Tong shared his analyses of the Biden administration’s policies toward China. Concerning the Japan-U.S. relationship, he mentioned that the two countries basically share the same stance on issues such as U.S.-China technological competition, and expected to see closer bilateral relations.
