Professor Hugh Whittaker of the Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies, University of Oxford, made a presentation on the above topic for KKC member corporations. He shared his observations on the Covid-19 pandemic, the strengthening of U.K.-Japan as well as EU-Japan relations in a world of growing geopolitical tensions, the emerging digital economy, and the significance of the Society 5.0 campaign in Japan. He stated that the digital technology, especially cybersecurity, and the green economy including ESG are major areas in which the U.K. and Japan can work together pro-actively.
